Will Munro was a Toronto based artist, DJ, queer activist, who unfortunately lost a long time battle with cancer and passed away in May of 2010. Munro was championed as a civic glue to Toronto's queer culture. He changed where and how Toronto’s queer community celebrated public life. Will Munro was instrumental in creating safe space for queer and trans people in the city of Toronto. Will was also a very beloved volunteer and staff person for 14 years at the Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line.
In his memory, the Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line is proud to announce the “Spirit of Will Munro” Award. This award is made possible through the continuous and generous support of Kristyn Wong-Tam.
