The Ministry of Artistic Affairs
Thursday, March 31, 2011
Local arts groups Narwhal Art Projects and Invisible-Friends have put together an excellent fundraising event to support families in Japan suffering from the evil results of the recent earthquake and tsunami.

All proceeds from Toronto Hearts Japan will be donated to The Red Cross and to the Birdo Flugas Artist Centre and Community in Shigoma, Japan.

Part contemporary art exhibition, part silent auction, and (the best part) part art party, Toronto Hearts Japan will take place at the Gladstone Hotel. Events will begin today (March 31) and run through April 5. Visitors will be asked to make a donation for admission (suggested donation $20) and this will provide a ticket for the raffle which will be held on Friday night during the opening reception (7-10pm).

Artworks have been generously provided by more than 80 local artists including some of The Ministry's favorites like Nicholas Di Genova, Brian Donnelly, kozyndan, Alex McLeod and Luke Painter. Works in the silent auction will be on view from Thursday though Tuesday when the winning bids will be announced at 7:00pm during the closing reception (5-8pm).
