The Ministry of Artistic Affairs
Thursday, May 5, 2011
The Toronto School of Art (TSA) welcomes sculptor Kris Kuksi to its studios TONIGHT! (May 5 at 6:30 p.m.) to talk about his work. This event is open to the public on a 'pay-as-you-can' basis.

Kuksi's sculptures are made by a meticulous process of collection, assemblage, manipulation and unification. The resulting works are a form of three dimensional collage that reference deities, religion, morality, mortality and warfare. Kuksi successfully merges the sumptuous echo of the past with a satirical and critical commentary of our modern world.

Toronto curator Camilla Singh recently started the "I Do My Own Stunts" series of artist lectures at the Toronto School of Art. Once a month these events present established artists and filmmakers who speak openly and candidly about their work and their creative process. Filmmakers Atom Egoyan and Guy Maddin were recent guest lecturers in this series.

Though these are not a Ministry of Artistic Affairs events, we support The Toronto School of Art and I Do My Own Stunts. See you there tonight!
