This Wednesday evening, September 21, members of The Ministry of Artistic Affairs will meet at the Art Gallery of Ontario to celebrate the release of award-winning illustrator Gary Taxali's newest monographs, "I Love You, OK?" and "Mono Taxali". Taxali will speak about his work and be available for Q&A and book signing.
This event is open to the public and is expected to be very busy. However, members of The Ministry who have RSVP'd will receive line-bypass. And because of the close relationship between Taxali and The Ministry of Artistic Affairs, the first 20 members to RSVP will also receive a very special limited edition print signed by Taxali.
Taxali's work has appeared in many major magazines and he has exhibited in many galleries and museums throughout North America and Europe. Aside from his gallery shows and illustration work, he also devotes a portion of his time teaching and lecturing at various arts organizations and schools such as OCAD University (Toronto, Canada), The Art Director's Club of Houston (Houston, USA), Dankmarks Designskole (Copenhagen, Denmark) and Istituto Europeo Di Design (Rome, Italy) . He is a Founding Member of The Illustrators' Partnership of America and sits on the Advisory Board of 3x3: The Magazine of Contemporary Illustration. He recently released his first children's book entitled This Is Silly, published by Scholastic Press. He lives and works in Toronto, Canada.
